Press release single electronic registry apostille «e-apostille» has been implemented in tajikistan


In February 2016, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has completed the process of accession to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents by taking further steps to implement the Convention in Tajikistan.

It should be noted that from 2013 till 2016 the Government of Tajikistan in cooperation and technical assistance of the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference and the World Bank Group coordinated every steps of accession to the Hague Convention and in the result Tajikistan became 108th Contracting State to the Convention.

Tajikistan’s accession to the Convention would:

– promote improving investment climate in the country

– ensure legal guarantees for domestic and foreign investors

– facilitate attraction of foreign investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy

– establish open conditions to foreign investment in Tajikistan

– make it easier for companies to start up a business in Tajikistan

– facilitate cross-border trade.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan №699 as of November 27, 2015 “About Regulations on single rules and conditions of putting down of the apostille on official documents of state bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan” Apostille is put down on the official documents issued by state authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan are the competent authorities implementing Apostille services in the Republic of Tajikistan.

As part of the accession of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Apostille Convention, the Project of a Single Electronic Registry Apostille «e-Apostille» has been implemented. With this system, fully adapted to modern conditions, concerned citizens have an opportunity to quickly verify the authenticity of the origin of the documents through the website

Single Electronic Registry System of Apostilles allowed the competent authorities to automate the process and speed up the procedure for authentication of the origin of the documents.

Electronic Registry enables the authentication of documents anywhere in the world via the Internet, which, in turn, provides security and guarantee on the international level. The new system not only simplifies the procedure of the certificate, but also guarantees the authenticity of origin of the document, for further use of the document abroad.

It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the first countries that launched the newest system – Single Electronic Registry Apostille. At the moment, the system of electronic registry does not operate in every member-states of the Convention.
